Salt Lake City offers professional sporting events, festivals, concerts, movies, performances, and many more attractions the whole family can enjoy. Salt Lake City was also the host of the successful 2002 Olympic Winter Games, attracting attention from around the world.
Utah's NBA team, the Utah Jazz, has been a local favorite for over 20 years. The Salt Lake Bees, Utah’s professional baseball team, features a stadium with one of the best mountain views in minor league baseball, plus fireworks after home games.
Major league soccer team Real Salt Lake, the 2009 MLS Cup Champions, has become a much-loved staple in the Utah sports community. And for some high speed on ice, visitors can catch Utah's ECHL ice hockey team, the Utah Grizzlies. Home games take place at the E-Center, which also hosted Olympic hockey and speed skating events during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Festivals and Concerts
Almost every weekend during summer, visitors will find a festival celebrating Utah's love of music, art, jazz, ethnic diversity, and more. Highlights include the outdoor Red Butte Garden Concert Series, the Utah Arts Festival, and the Living Traditions Festival, celebrating Utah’s cultural diversity. In addition, The Gallivan Center in the heart of downtown offers a free summer concert series, ice skating in winter and free outdoor films in summer.
Younger visitors will enjoy a day spent at Discovery Gateway or exploring the kid-sized reading nooks in the children’s area of the Salt Lake Public Library. Tracy Aviary and Utah's Hogle Zoo offer a day of outdoor fun for the whole family, with plenty to see and do.
